To celebrate the first anniversary of Writing in the Wound—an award-winning memoir and empowering journey through #resilience, #voice, and using our power in the face of harrowing systemic barriers and injustices—I invite you into an intimate experience of #sound, #movement, #stillness, and inner exploration to listen to your wounds. Meet yourself with greater #compassion, reconnect with the #wisdom of your body, and call your power back from the places, experiences, and stories that may have diminished it.
We will begin with deep listening, slowing down enough to hear what the body, heart, and inner self are asking us to notice. Through chanting and vocal expression, we will explore the voice’s liberating powerof the voice —creating space for what has been silenced, restrained, or left unspoken. Through gentle, intuitive movement, we will practice self-acceptance through the body, releasing the pressure to perform, perfect, or become anything other than who we are in this moment.
From this place, we will explore what it means to call our power back — reclaiming our voice, our #boundaries, our presence, and the parts of ourselves we may have abandoned in order to survive, belong, or be accepted. We will close with guided #meditation, grounding into self-trust, inner strength, and a deeper sense of wholeness. This experience is about returning to yourself. How do we move through the wound? We listen. We accept. We chant. We move. We call our power back. We become still.
