Anger, fear, and worry are natural human emotions. Yet when they become overwhelming, they can leave us feeling trapped in cycles of tension, uncertainty, and emotional distress. What if, instead of suppressing or resisting these emotions, we could learn to listen to them with curiosity and compassion?

Join Dr. Shumaila Hemani, musician, ethnomusicologist, and certified Positive Neuroplasticity Teacher, for an immersive workshop combining South Asian musical drones, sound meditation, gentle humming, chanting, deep listening, and reflective journaling.

Drawing on contemplative musical traditions, self-compassion, and positive neuroplasticity practices, this workshop offers a supportive space to explore difficult emotions and cultivate a more compassionate relationship with ourselves.

Together, we will:

Explore how anger, fear, and worry manifest in our thoughts, emotions, and bodies.

Experience grounding through South Asian musical drones, gentle humming, chanting, and guided meditation.

Use reflective journaling to explore the stories, needs, and uncertainties underlying difficult emotions.

Practice deep listening and self-compassion without judgment or pressure to change how we feel.

Cultivate inner resources for navigating emotional challenges with greater awareness and resilience.

Rather than trying to eliminate difficult emotions, we will explore how sound, silence, and writing can help us make space for them, understand their messages, and respond with greater intention.

No prior experience with meditation, music, chanting, or journaling is necessary. Bring a journal, a pen, and an openness to exploring your inner landscape.

Come as you are, and discover new ways of moving through anger, fear, and worry with presence, compassion, and resilience.
